Delta Airlines has raised its baggage fees as of today — significantly. Now with the the highest fees compared to other airlines, Delta is charging $23 for the first bag checked and $32 for the second — an increase of $8 and $7, respectively — if you book and pay online. If you wait to pay for your bags at the airport, you’ll be hit with another “add-on surcharge,” bringing the total to $25 for the first bag, $35 for the second.
The new rates apply to tickets purchased on or after January 5.
First class passengers and certain tiers of Delta’s mileage club are exempt from luggage fees.
