In a candid conversation with Univision’s Teresa Rodriguez last night (see 5-minute clip below), boxing’s “Golden Boy” Oscar De La Hoya opened up about his addiction to cocaine and alcohol as well as thoughts of suicide. “I don’t have the strength…I don’t have the courage to take my own life, but I was thinking about it,” the 3-months sober De La Hoya said on the network’s “Aqui y Ahora.” Once the top professional boxes, De La Hoya beat 17 world champions and win 10 world titles during his career. Personally, De La Hoya has two children with his wife, Puerto Rican singer Millie Corretjer, and three other children from previous relationships. His relationships and struggles were widely covered in the media, culminating with photos of the boxer dressed in fishnet tights and high heels. When the photos surfaced, his reps claimed they were fake and photoshopped. In the hour-long interview, Oscar De La Hoya admitted to infidelity and came clean about the photos saying, “Let me tell you – yes, it was me. I’m tired of lying. Lying to people, lying to myself.”
