Divorce for anyone that has gone through it, feels like a failure for both parents. For children involved it is devastating. For Jon, he should be more concerned for the children getting help then for Kate. Although if Jon really meant it from his heart, in loving way for Kate to get help getting through this ordeal then it would meaningful! Please for the sake of those 8 little hearts that love both mom and dad, if this must end in divorce make it private is every way you can. Your job as father and mother is to PROTECT and LOVE the 8 wonderful children you have been blessed with. The bottom line is the whole situation is horribly sad. (haha) not funny for your 8 kids though Jon. However I feel that it was really unfortunate that they couldn't resolve there issues. I do believe she really loved him however she treated him awful. She can spin it or hide behind the kids bla bla bla but she needed to reevaluate the way she interacted with him. She is bossy and is not star like material.
