Angela Kinsey from The Office talked to me last week about the show, being a mom and her hair color!  Angela was fabulous and funny, she is the complete opposite of her character on The Office, the uptight Angela Martin.

Angela Kinsey is the mom of Isabel, 16 months and she just started a new gig for Clairol.

Staring as “Gigi” in the new Clairol Nice ‘n Easy TV Commercials, Angela plays the “Guardian Girlfriend” who helps busy women keep dark roots at bay! The commercials are a crack-up and since I’m a blonde who has gotten highlights for years, I can totally relate!

Originally from Texas, Angela Kinsey grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia.  Here’s our quick Pop Quiz with the mom and actress:

GLOSS: Tell me what you like most about The Office.

Angela: It’s best job I’ve ever had. Everyone is great and it’s a family like atmosphere.  I am so thankful to have a job I love because it can be crazy to juggle it all.

GLOSS: Talk to me about being a mom.

Angela: I love being Isabel’s mom! She is amazing—she surprises me every, single day. It’s a blast. 

GLOSS: What was your biggest surprise about being a mother?

Angela: It took me a few months after Isabel was born to figure out that I’m not going to be the perfect mom and that I needed to relax and just be okay with it.

GLOSS: What made you decide on your latest gig as Gigi the Guardian Girlfriend?

Angela: I’ve used Clairol products for years. I grew up in Indonesia and my mom used to stock up on Clairol products so we’d have them. She did my hair during college and when I was growing up. We’ve always used Clairol because it’s a good product that is inexpensive and easy-to-use.

GLOSS: As a Texas girl, you’re no stranger to blonde highlights and big hair, right? My southern bell mom always said that “everybody looks better with a little bit of blonde.”

Angela (Laughing): That sounds like my mom! My mom was the official hair stylist for me growing up, and that’s why it’s natural for me to talk about hair color with women. I make an effort to use beauty products I can get easily at a store and I can use myself. I’d rather spend my free time with my baby!
