Kate Gosselin answered viewer questions tonight on Jon & Kate Plus 8 show. The one-hour special was sweet, sad and funny. After all the tabloid reports over the last few weeks about Jon and Kate, tonight’s episode reminds viewers that Kate Gosselin is just a mom.
Like most mothers, Kate Gosselin says she doesn’t get enough sleep. She likes to wear heels because “height makes you look thinner” and her kids are in after-school sports, they go to friends houses and there are sleepovers.
The difference is that Kate Gosselin does her mom stuff in front of millions of people on Jon & Kate Plus 8. The Gosselins are going through a divorce right now, and Kate and her kids are adjusting to the new normal for their family. Here are a few of the highlights from tonight’s show.
Question: Does she read the magazines? Do the things that people say bother her?
Kate answered that that the mean, and often untrue things written about her ARE hurtful. But from the experiences of the last year, she has learned a great deal about people and their intentions. According to Kate:
My children will grow up to be the kind of people who will scrutinize people inside, outside, upside-down and that it’s a good thing in this world.
Question: Do you have places in your house where TV cameras are not allowed?
Cameras are not allowed in the bedrooms, and Kate said bedrooms are off limits:
If the kids don’t want to be on camera or they don’t want to be in something that is being filmed, they go up to their room. Cameras are not allowed in the bedrooms.
Question: Do you ever just flip out?
Kate’s answer to this question, from a viewer who has five kids, was pretty funny.
Hello? Have you seen our show?
I flip out more than I’d like to but being a mom means flipping out sometimes.
Question: How do you feel about the Kate Gosselin’s Halloween wig?
I laughed my head off! That is just plain ridiculous!
Kate Gosselin said she can laugh at herself and she didn’t mind people having a laugh about her hair.
