Pop Quiz: Alison Sweeney

Alison Sweeney Feeding America1 Pop Quiz: Alison Sweeney

Alison Sweeney is a busy working mom! Alison stars in the long-running Days of our Lives while also hosting the mega-hit show The Biggest Loser. Sweeney and husband David Sanov are the proud parents of two young children.

Despite her crazy schedule, Alison finds time to give back to others.  Alison is currently working with the California Raisins to raise awareness about Feeding America’s program to combat childhood hunger.  I don’t know when Alison Sweeney sleeps but we’re happy she took time recently to sit down with GLOSS and answer our Pop Quiz!

I’ve had the pleasure of talking to Alison in the past and she is extremely gracious, warm and very kind.  Here’s Alison Sweeney’s Pop Quiz, enjoy!

GLOSS: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received from a girlfriend?
Alison: To dress in a way that flatters YOUR body, not always buy what’s trendy.

GLOSS: What gadget can’t you live without?
Alison: My Blackberry. I love my gadgets. I’m so into technology. But my blackberry really is a necessity… Once the letter ‘p” stopped working. I was totally freaking out. Lol. Who knew ‘p’ was such a prevalent letter??!!

GLOSS: What are some of your favorite beauty products?
Alison: Lip gloss and mascara – the essentials!! And a good sunscreen to keep my skin as healthy as I can.

GLOSS: Tell us about work you are doing with the California Raisins, especially the Backpack Program. It sounds amazing.
Alison: One in eight Americans is struggling with hunger, and Feeding America needs help to give them the fuel to survive and thrive. Whether you are an organization or an individual, there are many ways in to get involved.  You can learn more at www.feedingamerica.org.

GLOSS: Favorite healthy snack?
Alison: Raisins. Really. California Raisins are a natural way to add flavor and nutrition to your diet. Raisins are fat-and cholesterol-free, have important antioxidants and fiber, and just a quarter cup equals a whole serving of fruit!

PR NEWSWIREFeeding America Backpack Program

As a mom, the thought of a hungry child not getting enough food over the holiday break just breaks my heart.

I told Alison I wanted to pass along some of the information about what she is doing, especially one program called the Backpack Program. The Backpack Program is very helpful to low-income families. School backpacks are filled with kid-friendly, nonperishable and vitamin fortified food and distributed to children in need on the last day before the weekend or before holiday vacation.

Find out how you can help by going to the Feeding America website or visit the California Raisins website at www.loveyourraisins.com.
