NINE Leads Golden Globe Nominations, Critics Choice Awards

nine movie 300x194 NINE Leads Golden Globe Nominations, Critics Choice AwardsNINE led pack in the Golden Globe and the Critics Choice nominations, so you know more good things are coming to this musical.  Rob Marshall’s film adaptation of the hit Broadway show,  NINE is fabulous and it’s not a conventional musical.

NINE tells the story of Guido Contini (Daniel Day-Lewis), a world famous film director as he confronts an epic mid-life crisis with both creative and personal problems. He must balance the many women of his life, including his wife (Marion Cotillard), his mistress (Penelope Cruz), his film star muse (Nicole Kidman), his confidant and costume designer (Judi Dench), an American fashion journalist (Kate Hudson), the whore from his youth (Fergie) and his mother (Sophia Loren).

NINE was one of the main contenders for the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards with 10 nominations, including best picture.  The 15th annual awards will be presented Jan. 15 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles and will air on VH1.

NINE received five Golden Globe nominations, only Up in the Air received more nods.

Golden Globe nominations usually predict the candidates for Academy Awards, Hollywood’s top honor. The Golden Globes will be presented January 17th (televised on NBC), with Ricky Gervais hosting.

I’ve seen NINE and it’s an amazing film.  I can’t wait to see it again when it opens nationally on Christmas Day.  There are so many fantastic performances in this movie!  Just watch the trailer to get a preview of some of the magic NINE holds and enjoy!
