jennifer grey dirty dancing 198x300 Daily Buzz: Dirty Dancing Remake Planned, Gavin DeGraw Hospitalized After Assault Lionsgate Films and Kenny Ortega are planning to remake the 1987 classic, Dirty Dancing! Ortega, who is best known for the High School Musical films was the original choreographer on the iconic film starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey. No names have been floated who will fill Swayze and Grey’s dancing shoes, but Ortega told US Weekly that the Swayze role of the sexy Johnny will be tough to cast, “Patrick Swayze set the bar for men dancing in the movies as Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire did before him.” Tell us: who would you like to see in the modern version of Dirty Dancing?

Singer Gavin DeGraw is in the hospital after being assaulted by a gang in New York’s East Village. The New York Post reports that the 34-year old “Chariot” crooner was attacked around 4am and after being beaten by the men, who broke his nose, he was hit by a cab while stumbling away. DeGraw is recovering at Bellevue Hospital.

Kung Fu Panda 2 Brings The Awesomeness Again

KFP2001 300x127 Kung Fu Panda 2 Brings The Awesomeness Again Jack Black, Angelina Jolie and Jackie Chan are back for Kung-Fu Panda 2 – opening May 26th — and like the first installment, the film is funny, action-packed and heartwarming all at once.

After becoming The Dragon Warrior, Po the Panda (Jack Black) is now living his dream and protecting the Valley of Peace alongside his friends and fellow kung fu masters, The Furious Five. Dustin Hoffman returns as mentor Master Shifu, who tells Po that he must find inner peace to defeat the newest villain to threaten China — Lord Shen.

All jokes aside, throughout the film’s journey (which includes plenty humor and action scenes appropriate for both young children and adults), we learn how Po ended up with a goose for a father…including a touching and positive story about adoption.

Like the first film, Kung Fu Panda 2 is full of action, laughs and positive messages. Kung Fu Panda 2 opens on May 26th in 3D in theaters across the country.

kirsten dunst cannes Kirsten Dunst, Tree Of Life Take Top Cannes Nods The Brad Pitt and Sean Penn helmed film “Tree of Life” took home top prize — the Palme D’or — at the 64th Cannes Film Festival, which ended today. Cannes Jury president Robert DeNiro awarded Terrence Malick’s film with the honor.

Kirsten Dunst won the best actress prize for her role in Lars Von Trier’s Melancholia. Trier was banned from the festival earlier in the week following a rant during a press conference during which he said he sympathized with Hitler. During her speech, Dunst concluded by saying, “What a week this has been.”

Other Cannes honors went to “Once Upon a Time in Anatolia,” and “The Kid With a Bike,” and director Nicolas Winding Refn for “Drive” starring Ryan Gosling.

Rob and Kristen are up against some pretty tough competition for the 2010 MTV Movie Award Best Kiss! They are up against themselves too! Kristen Stewart & Dakota Fanning are nominated for their kiss in The Runaways and Emilie de Ravin & Robert Pattinson are nominated for their kiss in Remember Me.

Robert Pattinson: Nervous about Fight Scenes in ‘Remember Me’

GLAMOUR.com in the UK interviewed Robert Pattinson as a part of his UK Remember Me media blitz. Pattinson revealed to the magazine his nervousness at shooting the film’s fight scenes:

I haven’t been in a fight for quite a long time. I’m too scared now; if I got into a fight now someone would probably just kill me in 30 seconds!”

The fight I had at the beginning I was doing with a stunt guy and I hit him with what I thought was my full strength – I hit his face about four times, and every time I was like ‘I’m sorry I’m sorry’, and he was like ‘It’s fine, I can’t even feel it’, and I was like ‘doesn’t it even hurt?’…That was kind of an ego deflator!

With a face like Rob’s, is it any wonder he’s more of a lover than a fighter? In Remember Me, Pattinson plays Tyler, who is an angry young man. Remember Me is a story about the healing power of love, the strength of family, and the importance of every single moment you get with those you love.

Hot Tub Time Machine: Funny, Twisted 80′s Flick!

Hot Tub Time Machine opens this weekend and it’s on my list of must see movies! As a child of the 80′s, this film had me at the first trailer. Hot Tub stars John Cusack, Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson and Clark Duke.

The story is simple and totally twisted: A hot-tub malfunction sends some friends back in time, allowing them to change the past. John Cusack plays a dissatisfied fortyish dude whose girlfriend has dumped him and Rob Corddry is hilarious as Lou, the self-destructive screw-up of the bunch. The LA Times review of this flick recommends leaving your logical mind at the door if you want to enjoy the Hot Tub Time Machine:

But frankly, a literal mind is not something that should be brought anywhere near this raunchy party. So if everyone will just check theirs at the door, “Hot Tub Time Machine” will in turn deliver nonstop political incorrectness; completely illogical special effects; a story line that at times makes absolutely no sense; Crispin Glover in one running sight gag that gets better instead of old; a crush of very cool ’80s references, Cusack chief among them; some gross-out moments that are genius, at least in the highly competitive world of R ratings. Oh and about a billion laughs (though “Hot Tub” is not for the faint of heart or anyone even slightly concerned with what’s happen to common decency these days).

Summit Entertainment released a new one sheet for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse today!

Summit released the poster on an iPhone app this morning and then on Twitter this afternoon.

The poster features Bella in the middle of Edward and Jacob, with the tagline:
