George Clooney: Why We Love Him

email

up2done 300x199 George Clooney: Why We Love HimFans and critics are buzzing about George Clooney in Up in the Air. Personally, I would pay to see Clooney read the phone book because of the way he LOOKS. But George Clooney’s dry wit and comedic timing are the reasons the man is one of the best actors of our generation.
For example, George Clooney is hysterical in the Oceans movies.  We knew Danny Ocean wasn’t a boy scout but he’s a hero.  In this day and age, the squeaky clean guys usually have a secret (Tiger Woods) but an anti-hero like Clooney never really lets you down.

Clooney is a throwback to Jimmy Stewart or Cary Grant.  Under the suave exterior, we see a decent man in a crazy world.  He’s no saint but we believe he’s good underneath it all.

MTV’s Hollywood Crush has a great article on George Clooney, you should check it out if you can.

Jason Reitman has been one of my favorite directors since Thank You for Smoking. Reitman proves that smart movies can be hit movies. Here’s a clip of Jason Reitman explaining how he got George Clooney to star in Up in the Air.  Jason Reitman tells a story to a group of AFI Conservatory Fellows about getting George Clooney to star in UP IN THE AIR.
