Pop Quiz: Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott
Posted on January 27, 2010 by Lolita Carrico
There’s trouble in paradise! Just kidding, sort of.
Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott, stars of Oxygen’s Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, have had a long-standing debate in their home: whether to hang their toilet paper rolling over or under. Tori’s an over kind of girl, and Dean prefers under. “It’s such an issue for me, that I even switch the toilet paper in other people’s homes if it’s rolling under,” Tori says.
So, to end the debate at home once and for all, the couple has partnered with Cottonelle for the Cottonelle Roll Poll. Through March 6th, Americans can vote on which they prefer–over or under–and the Spelling-McDermott’s will roll with the nation’s preference.
We spoke with Tori and Dean this morning to talk about what the way they roll says about them and for a quick Pop Quiz.
GLOSS: So, according to psychotherapist Dr. Gilda Carle, the way you roll says a lot about your personality. If you roll over, you’re more of a type-A, take charge kind of person and if you roll under, you’re more laid back. Is that an accurate description of each of you?
Tori: Definitely! I’m a planner, an organizer. I would steer away from saying I’m controlling, though.
Dean: Tori’s a great multi-tasker. Me, not so much. I’m more of a one project at a time person, and generally more laid back.
GLOSS: What’s the best parenting tip you’ve ever received?
Tori: Don’t listen to what other people have to say! Everyone has their opinions, and you just have to tune them out. Listen to your own maternal instincts.
Dean: I think I gave Tori that tip… For me, the best tip is to have loads of patience.
GLOSS: What’s the first thing you do each morning?
Tori: I’m a teeth grinder, so I take out my night guard. Sexy, I know.
Dean: I pee for ten minutes. I have a big bladder.
GLOSS: In addition to the show, kids and the great toilet paper debate, what’s keeping you busy these days?
Dean: I’ve gotten into motorcycle racing, though I’ve had to take a break since I broke my shoulder blade the last time. I’m too old to race professionally, so I’m just having fun with it.
Tori: I’m working on my third book, Unchartered Territory, which will be out in June. This book picks up where my last book, Mommywood left off.
Tori and Dean also shot a hilarious Funny or Die video to go along with the Cottonelle campaign — check it out below and visit www.CottonelleRollPoll.com through March 6th to cast your vote for how Tori and Dean should roll!
