[2009 CMA Awards] Country Music 101 for Newbies
Posted on November 11, 2009 by Lolita Carrico
David Wild is an entertainment writer and a contributing editor for Rolling Stone. If you look in the dictionary under the word HIP, you’ll see a picture of David Wild because he’s a guy with big time credibility in the music industry.
This might come as a shock to some of you who don’t know much about country music but David Wild is a fan of Country Music! He wrote about his experiences in Nashville over on Huffington Post this week:
I love Nashville and its music community with all my heart. Nashville is my kind of town because in the end, my life has been shaped and graced by songs. And Nashville is all about songs — and the people who sing them, write them and play on them.
Wild makes a great point that this music isn’t your mom and dad’s country:
Kid Rock and Kenny Chesney sing with Dave Matthews and Vince Gill sing with Daughtry. Bless all of your liberal, Huffington Post hearts, I think you’ll have a good time.
Check out David Wild’s guide to country music over on Huffington Post, it’s awesome!
