[buzzGLOSS] Parents Television Council Urges CW Not To Air ‘Gossip Girl’

Commercials and promos for an upcoming episode of “Gossip Girl” featuring a sexual threesome has prompted the Parents Television Council (PTC) to petition affiliates of the CW network to stop the show from airing.
PTC president Tim Winter said in a statement that airing the sexual scenes, which involve teens, ” is “reckless and irresponsible” and is urging CW affiliates to nix the episode, scheduled to air on Nov. 9.
In a letter addressed to the affiliate stations, Winter asked, “Will you now be complicit in establishing a precedent and expectation that teenagers should engage in behaviors heretofore associated primarily with adult films?”
A CW spokesman said the target audience for “Gossip Girl” is 18- to 34-year-old women, not teens.
