‘Avatar’ Will Pass ‘Titantic’ This Week?

avatar 300x160 Avatar Will Pass Titantic This Week?Avatar will topple mega hit Titanic from the box-office charts this week after a raking in almost $55 million over the holiday weekend!

Avatar made $54.6 million from Friday through Monday in the U.S. and Canada, according to a report from the LA Times. James Cameron’s blockbuster had a big weekend overseas, raking in $129 million from 112 territories.

Other movies had good box-office results over the holiday weekend! Denzel Washington’s The Book of Eli and The Lovely Bones had good nationwide openings of $38 million and $20.5 million, respectively.

    I think Avatar will definitely surpass Titanic! Even though the media doesn’t seem to think so (see http://tinyurl.com/ybquv8j for some perspectives!), if you just look at the numbers, Avatar will go flying beyond Titanic.
