Taylor Swift beat out the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, who was also up for the big prize. The 19-year-old crooner accepted her award live via satellite from backstage at London’s Wembley Arena, where she will perform on Monday.

Swift also won  favorite female artist in the pop/rock and country categories, and favorite adult-contemporary artist.

What the?? She beat out MJ, of all people? Let the Swift backlash begin! This girl is OVERRATED, OVEREXPOSED, and peaked too soon for her own good.

Wow,, I’m actually really impressed. Taylor deffinatley deserved the award. There arn’t too many “musicians” left out there anymore. I mean, shes honest and she doesen’t need all the fancy equipment to make her music sound great. She lets whats in her heart out. It’s something that many girls can relate to. I personally look up to her. Congrats Taylor!
Wow only 19 years old. That’s an accomplishment.

Also, just have to say. Where was everyone when Michael really needed them. All of a sudden everyone is becoming huge fans of Michael. Don’t get me wrong, his music is great but now all of a sudden he’s getting voted for everything. Though, I think it’s great that a whole new generation of people are realizing how great his music is. The thing is, a lot of people might just be voting for him because of his death. A “trend” you could call it. Think about it. If Michael had never died, who do you think would have deserved this award?
    RIP MICHAEL

Where was Kanye West when we needed him?!

way to spoil it for those of us who haven’t seen it yet

For all those who thought MJ should have won re-read the title of the award ARTIST OF THE YEAR. which means they had to do something within that year. Swift done benefit concerts and concerts for the soldiers on top of her regular tour this year alone. Hell the only thing MJ did was posted on the 6 o’clock news get over people MJ hasn’t done crap for the world since the 80 hasnt had a good song since the 90 and hasn’t done anything this millennium except hang babies from balconies and been in and out of court. Not to sound callous but but get over yourself and quit trying to relate to the Jackson family. Their lost is not your lost let them mourn in peace.

I agree as a Beyonce and Michael Jackson Stan Than I am. He didn’t produce anything this year and I believe him being nominated without doing anything speaks of the man the artist…..that being said I am so Happy for miss Swift because its nice to see ppl who sing from the ehart and represent everyday art win…….

I believe Taylor said it best ‘….to even be in the same category as Michael Jackson is an unimaginable honour.’

Truly a classy way to accept an award. Michael will always be a legend. Not only is it only right that he starts getting the long overdue respect he is due but I think you’ll find there isn’t a true artist in the world that would begrudge that.

True art knows art. If you could only see what I see, feel what I have felt – you would know how incredibly hard this summer has been. But it’s easier isn’t it, to play the cynic and arrogantly reduce other people’s palpable grief and connection to an affectation?
