John Edwards is the Father of Rielle Hunter’s Baby, Former Edwards Aide Confesses

Andrew Young, who once claimed he fathered the child of John Edwards’ mistress, now says that the former presidential candidate is the baby’s father.  Young spilled all the dirty laundry about John Edwards and his mistress, Rielle Hunter, in a book proposal.  Andrew Young is a former Edwards aide, and says that political donors made payments to Hunter.

The New York Times reports that payments were made to Hunter from Edward’s big donors, and that a grand jury is investigating if any crimes were committed in an effort to cover up Edwards as the baby daddy.

According to the Times, Edwards is considering coming clean with the news that he is the father of Hunter’s child, a claim that he had previously denied. 

Edwards has admitted having an affair with Hunter, which took place during his wife’s battle against incurable cancer.

Young wrote that Edwards told Hunter they would marry after Edwards’ wife died.  Huffington Post gives the dirty details on just how low John Edwards can go, reporting that “Edwards told Hunter that the ceremony would be held on a rooftop in New York and the Dave Matthews Bands would make an appearance”.

Edwards has denied he fathered the child. He has acknowledged that federal investigators are looking into his campaign funds.
