Dear John: Movie for the Chick Flick Hall of Fame!

dear john Dear John: Movie for the Chick Flick Hall of Fame!Dear John is a movie for the chick flick hall of fame!  Dear John made headlines this weekend for knocking Avatar out of first place at the box office but I’m not surprised.  I saw a screening of the film with my tween daughter and both of us loved it.  If you are a fan of love stories, Dear John will become a staple in your chick flick movie collection.

First of all, Channing Tatum is dreamy, in case you hadn’t noticed.  Amanda Seyfried is darling and her character is good to the core. The movie is based on a Nicholas Sparks book, so you know it will be a tear jerker.  I don’t want to give away too much but here’s the basic story of Dear John:

Special Forces Army Sergeant John Tyree (Channing Tatum) is home on a two-week leave from Germany. He meets Savannah Curtis (Amanda Seyfried) and they fall in love. Savannah is a college student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, on spring break.  The love birds have a long distance relationship but then 9/11 happens and their relationship is put to the test.

Bring plenty of Kleenex for Dear John. It’s a romantic film for a wide ranges of chick flick lovers, from your middle-school daughter to your grandmother.  My girls and I loved it.  We cried like babies but we both enjoyed this film!
