Daily Buzz: Kris Kardashian On “The Talk”, Melissa Gilbert Files for Divorce, Ricky Gervais Heading Back to Globes

kris kardashan 300x201 Daily Buzz: Kris Kardashian On The Talk, Melissa Gilbert Files for Divorce, Ricky Gervais Heading Back to GlobesApparently the Kardashian buzz isn’t going to die down anytime soon — mama Kardashian Kris confirmed today that she’ll be filling in for fellow reality TV mom Sharon Osbourne on CBS’ “The Talk” this Fall. Oh, and she’s going to guest host on “The Today Show” too! This on the heels of “The Talk” cutting Leah Remini and possibly Holly Robinson Peete from their round-table. What do you think? Will Kris Kardashian be an equitable swap for the funny Leah Remini and personable Holly Robinson Peete?

“Little House on the Prairie” star Melissa Gilbert and long-time hubby Bruce Boxleitner are calling it quits. The couple — both iconic stars from 70s and 80s television — have been together for 16 years and have a 15-year old son. Gilbert filed the papers in Los Angeles citing “irreconcilable differences.” The news comes at the same time as Gilbert’s sister, “The Talk” co-host Sara Gilbert announced that she too was separating from her long-time partner, Allison Adler.

Will Ricky Gervais host the Golden Globes again this year? We hope so! Despite a less than stellar review of his hosting duties at last year’s ceremony, Gervais claims he has been asked to return to the Globes stage for a third year in a row. He told a Scottish television station that he, “love(s) NBC, I love the fact that they stuck by me through it.” Tell us: do you want to see Ricky Gervais host the Golden Globes again this year?

Taylor Swift 253x300 Daily Buzz: Musicians Join Hope for Haiti, Conan Buyout Reaches $40 Million, NYT Critiques Jennifer Anistons Weight? The celebs keep lining up for George Clooney’s “Hope for Haiti” telethon this Friday. Joining the already amazing cast of hosts and performers are music’s top crooners including Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, and Keith Urban.

“Hope For Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief” will be a nationally televised event airing live this Friday, January 22nd at 8pm on MTV and other networks. Haitian native Wyclef Jean will host the show from New York, organizer George Clooney will take the reigns in Los Angeles, and Twilight star Robert Pattinson will host from London. CNN’s Anderson Cooper will report from Haiti.

Still no official word from NBC about Conan O’Brien’s fate, but the buzz is that the negotiations have reached over $40 million dollars for the late-night host to walk away from “The Tonight Show”  — who will likely end his stint this Friday. The latest hold-up on an official announcement is rumored to be a dispute over Conan’s staff compensation.

Maybe we missed something, but the New York Times blogged about the “rounder” figures at the Golden Globes — and they were talking about Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox and Kate Hudson! Huh? Andy Port — the (female) blogger for the Times’ “The Moment” — writes under a photo montage of the slim trio:

Maybe it’s just me, but I could have sworn that some of the ladies who showed up at the Golden Globes on Sunday had put on a little weight.

Rounder? Take a look at the photos for yourself and tell us what you think…but we think it’s another case of fashionistas pushing unrealistic and too skinny model figures.

Meryl Streep, Mo’Nique, Drew Barrymore and More Fabulous Moments for Women at Golden Globes

95836425 210x300 Meryl Streep, MoNique, Drew Barrymore and More Fabulous Moments for Women at Golden GlobesThe 2010 Golden Globe Awards had fabulous moments for women tonight.

Meryl Streep showed her usual modesty and class with her acceptance speech.

I just want to say, in my long career, I’ve played so many extraordinary women that, basically, I’m getting mistaken for one. No, really, I’m very clear about the fact that I’m the vessel for other people’s stories and other women’s lives and this year I got to play not one of the most beloved women in America, Julia Child, but I also got to secretly pay homage to my own personal, not-so-famous hero. That’s my mother, who was of the same generation as Julia, who shared her verve.

Drew Barrymore accepted her Golden Globe with humor and heartfelt honesty.  She was so shocked she won an award that she forgot to thank her co-star Jessica Lange or her date, Justin Long! A horrified Barrymore admitted backstage she was not prepared for a victory in the Best Supporting Actress category for ‘Grey Gardens’:

I screwed up so hard in my speech.I think Mo’Nique said it best, you just don’t want to know or think or assume you would ever win something.

Mo’Nique’s acceptance speech for her Golden Globe kicked off the night and showed the world what a strong woman she is. Mo’Nique’s emotional speech was fabulous, see clip of her speech below. I don’t know about you but I teared up.

Here’s a peek at some of the first stars to hit the red carpet:

Ricky Gervais: Top 5 Reasons to Love Ricky Gervais

gervaisx Ricky Gervais: Top 5 Reasons to Love Ricky GervaisRicky Gervais is hosting the 67th Golden Globe awards tonight and he plans to use his hosting gig as a way to shamelessly promote himself.  Gervais plans to promote the Jan. 19 release of the DVD of The Invention of Lying and the February debut of HBO’s animated series The Ricky Gervais Show.

The fact that Ricky Gervais admits he is promoting his work is just one of the many reasons I love this British funny man.

Here are the five more reasons you should love Ricky Gervais.

      1. Ricky Gervais brought The Office to America.  The British version of The Office that Gervais created is even better than NBC’s version but we’re grateful to have the dry wit of the series in the mainstream media.

      2. Gervais created one of the best shows ever made for TV, HBO’s Extras. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, shame on you! Go immediately to HBO.com and check it out.

      3. Because there is no telling what will come out of Ricky’s mouth. Gervais gave a hilarious interview to USA Today earlier this week that is a shining example of why we heart Ricky.  A few quotes from his USA Today interview:

If they were giving me a go at brain surgery, I’d panic, but no one’s going to die, so who cares?
Maybe my standards are too low. ‘How’d it go?’ ‘Fine, no one died.’ ‘Well done, Ricky.’

      4. Because he knows hosting an awards show isn’t brain surgery. Gervais told USA Today that he’s spent a total of eight minutes prepping for the show:

Including this phone call, about eight minutes so far.
How hard can it be? I’ll go out there and hopefully say some funny things. If I can’t do that, I’m in trouble.

      5. Ricky Gervais symbolizes why British humor is so much better than American humor. The Brits are just cooler than Americans. Period. Even though it’s been a few hundred years, Americans still haven’t caught up. You know I’m right.

Watch 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards tonight! (NBC, 8 p.m. ET/5 PT).
