281x211 George Clooney: Celebrity Volunteers Answering Phones for Hope for Haiti TelethonWhen you call to donate to Hope for Haiti tonight, you never know who might answer the phone.   Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief  has an all star line-up of celebrities soliciting funds!  George Clooney told MTV News:

It’ll be the biggest bank of faces that you recognize answering the phones. And that will be streamed live on the Web the entire time. So if you call and you get Daniel Day-Lewis on the line, you can wave at him, and you’ll see him. It’ll be kind of funny, actually. I told everyone to say they’re Daniel Day-Lewis.
You got about 130 to 140 actors, athletes, singers and television hosts, and they’re all coming up not to be on TV, but simply to answer the phones.
Clooney told MTV that he is thankful to all the stars who have volunteered their time in one way or another.  Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Madonna and Bruce Springsteen,Will Smith and Muhammad Ali are just a few of the many names who will be part of the telethon.

Still no official word from NBC about Conan O’Brien’s fate, but the buzz is that the negotiations have reached over $40 million dollars for the late-night host to walk away from “The Tonight Show”  — who will likely end his stint this Friday. The latest hold-up on an official announcement is rumored to be a dispute over Conan’s staff compensation.

Maybe we missed something, but the New York Times blogged about the “rounder” figures at the Golden Globes — and they were talking about Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox and Kate Hudson! Huh? Andy Port — the (female) blogger for the Times’ “The Moment” — writes under a photo montage of the slim trio:

Maybe it’s just me, but I could have sworn that some of the ladies who showed up at the Golden Globes on Sunday had put on a little weight.

Rounder? Take a look at the photos for yourself and tell us what you think…but we think it’s another case of fashionistas pushing unrealistic and too skinny model figures.

Looks like NBC is going to blame everything on Conan O’Brien!  NBC’s Dick Ebersol claims the slip in The Tonight Show ratings is Conan’s fault!  The network exec told The New York Times:

It was chicken-hearted and gutless to blame a guy you couldn’t beat in the ratings. He added that ‘what this is really all about is an astounding failure by Conan.’

Americans will celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. day on Monday. As we celebrate the legacy of the civil-rights leader, thousands of Americans are contributing humanitarian services in Haiti, where millions are in need.
