Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio won big at the box office, as Shutter Island raked in $40.2 million this weekend. The box office hit is the biggest opening weekend ever for Scorsese and DiCaprio, exceeding “experts” predictions for an opening weekend by over $15 million dollars. Not bad!

Abbie Cornish and Ryan Phillippe have split, according to PEOPLE.

On Sunday, the actress moved out of the house she shared with Phillippe. The magazine reports that the split follows months of media speculation that Phillippe has been cheating on Abbie. Considering the fact that Abbie and Ryan started dating while he was still married….is anyone surprised?

The son of Star Trek veteran Walter Koenig has disappeared while visiting friends in Canada, and family pleaded on Sunday for information on his whereabouts to be given to the Vancouver police.

Andrew Koenig was last seen in Vancouver on February 14 after neighbors said he sold all his possessions in Los Angeles.

The Hurt Locker and Up In the Air won honors from the Writers Guild of America, the last major Hollywood awards show leading up to the Oscars.

The Hurt Locker writer Mark Boal won best original screenplay from the Writers Guild of America and Up In the Air won for best adapted screenplay for co-writers Sheldon Turner and Jason Reitman.

Shutter Island, starring Leonardo DiCaprio took home the box office prize on Friday, taking in $14 million. Shutter Island is the fourth collaboration between Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio was a big winner in early box office returns.

Jamie Jungers, one of the women who claim to have been involved with Tiger Woods sex scandal says the golfer’s apology is not sincere. Huffington Post reports:

Jamie Jungers, one of Tiger Woods’ many alleged mistresses, trashed the golfer’s public statement on Friday. She told E! Online that the apology was “crap,” “hurtful” and “rude.”

Leonardo DiCaprio: Filming ‘Shutter Island’ was Traumatic

Leonardo DiCaprio stars in Shutter Island but he says the movie isn’t one he will forget any time soon. The thriller hits theaters this weekend, with early reviews raving about the Martin Scorsese film. In an interview with Parade.com, the actor talked about his experience while working on Shutter Island.

I have to say ‘Shutter Island’ was one of the most intense, hardcore filming experiences I’ve ever had as we explored what the mentally ill had to face in the days when mental hospitals were called insane asylums. It was really very traumatic, and I don’t say that about a film very often. I went to places and unearthed some things that I didn’t think I was capable of. It was like an emotional layer cake that just kept getting deeper and deeper.

DiCaprio said that the project not only haunted him while he was asleep, but during his days of preparation and while on the set. Poor Leo!
