The X Factor will launch in America in 2011 with me hosting & executive producing the show. This will be my last season on Idol.

The King of Mean, Simon Cowell is planning to launch a U.S. version of his popular British talent show The X Factor in 2011. The Los Angeles Times reports that American Idol judge and Fox are close to a deal.
If The X Factor comes to America, this could be Cowell’s final season as a full-time judge on American Idol. In case you’ve been living in cave, the mega-hit show begins its ninth season Tuesday.
