A couple of weeks ago, I received a card in the mail from a friend. It wasn’t really for a special occasion, it was just a sweet little card to thank me for picking up her daughter from school one day when she needed help.
The simple gesture reminded me that in our busy lives in which email is the normal mode of communication, it’s so nice to get a piece of mail — that isn’t a bill! — that says “Hello” or “Thank you.” So, I set out to get some personalized notecards that I can have on hand — and am making a resolution to try my best to send actual CARDS…in the MAIL…the next time I want to send a quick sentiment to a friend.
I found a number of options — ranging from very expensive to reasonably affordable. Some of my favorites:
Fabulous Stationery: FabulousStationery.com has hundreds of chic designs that can be customized with your name or initials. I love that their cards have your return address printed right on the back of the card and is visible through a window on the envelope…so when it’s time to return the sentiment, you have the address handy.
Vistaprint: Vistaprint.com has a variety of personalized cards that can feature photos and more. You can view a proof of your card right online before ordering and they have incredible designs and even more incredible prices.
Fine Stationery: For those with a higher budget, FineStationery.com has a gorgeous assortment of cards, letterhead and more.
