After a summer of swimming in chlorinated swimming pools, or that public pool that is over chlorinated, sometimes people discover their hair may turn green due to the chlorine.
This happened to me many times in the past, and it’s not fun. A “magic” fix exists though, and since I’ve been trying it – no problems!
Hair expert Blaine Schlaudt suggests we take 2 Bayer aspirin, crush them up in our hands, add shampoo to that and wash. The salicylic acid in the aspirin will counteract the alkalinity of the chlorine and remove the green almost immediately.
As well, a very inexpensive way to remove product buildup is baking soda. Put an ample amount in your hand, then add shampoo and it will remove buildup. Make sure and condition well after this. It will not harm hair color and should be done monthly in most cases.
Yay for Monday’s summer solstice! (And good hair.)
