We moms buy a lot of stuff for our kids — from gear to clothes to toys to furniture — there’s pretty much always something we need…and then eventually need to get rid of.
Enter Handmedowns.com — the brainchild of a mom who was frustrated with searching multiple sites for gently-used items to buy and sell. “The classified sites that were out there had some great listings, but were simply not designed with a parent in mind,” says CEO Norah Weinstein. “Moms are too busy to sift through thousands of listings to find the products they need, especially those in good condition.”
Handmedowns.com combines relevant items for sale from eBay, Craigslist, and Kijiji as well as listings from their own users and organizes each into family-friendly categories.
The site is active in over 30 cities and the company plans to expand into even more areas soon.
