Designer Cynthia Rowley hopes to put a new spin on disposable diapers with a new line of “fashion” Pampers. Sold exclusively at Target later this month, the designer diapers will come in 11 chic styles for your budding fashionistas or prepsters — including pastels, stripes, madras prints, ruffles and preppy plaids.

“As a mom I wanted other moms and dads to have more options in every part of their lives — even diapers,” Rowley — a mom to two daughters — said. “It’s the first piece of clothing your baby will ever wear and it should be special.”

Tell us: will you pick up a pack of designer diapers?

Most cloth diapering mamas think that these diapers are a ridiculous riot.(especially the jean diapers) We have been putting our babies in very cute and fashionable diapers for years, all without the waste and cost!

I definitely won’t be purchasing these because my kids cute diapers are reusable, cute, cost efficient and so much better for the environment!

  • Richard

Yes, let’s make something fashionable that will be thrown away within 3 hours of being worn.

How about we use cloth diapers and quit putting chemicals near our kids and crap-filled paper in our landfills.

How’s that for an option, Cynthia?

Nope! The gDiapers I use are adorable, with all different colors. And they won’t still be here thousands of years from now.

With the rapidly growing range of adorable, customizable, easy to use and colorful cloth diapers (my two kiddos are currently stylin’ some sage green Fuzzi Bunz), it seems silly, and perhaps a tad copy cat, for first Huggies to come out with a “Jean diaper” and now this. Sure, it’s cute, but it’s adding to the already high cost of production, I’m sure, and if you really want a cute diaper, buy one that will last more than one change!

There are adorable cloth diapers on Etsy, too… http://www.etsy.com/search_results.php?search_type=all&includes=tags&search_query=etsyclothdiapers

Seriously has anyone ever heard of a outfit-matching diaper cover?

  • Susan Smith

Why spend exta money on something my child will wear for a few hours, plus nobody is going to notice because she is wearing clothes.

  • Rebekah

No, I will not buy these. We are cloth diaper users and I think it’s a far stretch to call disposable diapers “clothing.”

  • Danielle

Absolutely not! First of all, a diaper is is trash. Why do you need to make it pretty. Second of all if you want your baby’s bottom to be cute, use cloth! So much cuter and better for your baby’s bottom without the chemicals! Not to mention the environment.

  • K

Plastic diapers will never be “cute” If you want cute use cloth diapers. I can’t imagine how nasty these things will smell with all the added chemicals, just what the environment needs more ink and chemicals added to the ground.
