Fit Tip of the Day: Tennis Tone Ups
Posted on September 1, 2010 by GLOSS STAFF
Have you been watching the US Open? Tennis players have some seriously enviable upper bodies. Their arms are just toned powerhouses. A little arm envy prompted Self Magazine to look into ways to get Sharapova-esque arms. One move you can try is the Medicine Ball Toss. Just pretend you’re in a serious rally for that match point. This move not only works on arm strength, but also gets your heart pumping.
- Hold a two to five pound medicine ball and stand a few feet away from a wall.
- Raise your arms over your head.
- Toss the ball against the wall and catch it, moving quickly as necessary.
- Continue tossing and catching the ball for 10 to 20 seconds. You’ll feel the burn the longer you go.
Self Magazine is serving up two more tennis tone ups — try them all for some serious return on your fitness efforts.
