Gloss How-To: Epsom Salt Soak
Soaking in a hot bath after a long day of work or a touch workout is one of my guiltiest pleasures – but considering my tiny NYC apartment, it’s not one I very often indulge in.
When I do, I used to drop in a lavender scented bath packet designed to help me relax – until I discovered the health benefits of Epsom salt.
Magnesium is the main component to Epsom salt – absorbed through the skin, bathing in it does wonders for your body. Epsom salt helps to reduce inflammation, improve heart and circulatory health, flush out toxins, and reduce stress.
How can you maximize the benefits of an Epsom salt bath? For best results and the most health benefits, add two cups of Epsom salt to the water in a standard sized bath tub and soak in it for at least 12 minutes. Do this three times a week and you’ll look at feel better!
