beerandbones 300x200 Beer & Your Bones: Beer Does A Body GoodWe all know milk does a body good, but with the summer heat upon us, almost nothing tastes better than an ice cold beer.  Hello happy hour!  Not only does beer cool you down – but like milk, it’s also good for your bones.

One hundred of the most popular beers were analyzed by researchers at the University of California (drinking on the job?) this year and it was determined that beer had enough silicone in it to benefit bone health –- which could prevent osteoporosis.  This study supports previous studies on the benefits of beer.

So, I’m not suggesting that you go out each night and down a keg, but having up to two of your favorite brews per day isn’t going to hurt you.  Try to stick with Pale Ales and opt for lighter beers -– they have less calories and higher levels of silicone.
