Gloss Preview: Tony Hawk: RIDE

TonyHawkRide LOGO 051309FINALv2 300x147 Gloss Preview: Tony Hawk: RIDELast weekend my sons and I had a chance to preview the highly anticipated new video game from Activision, Tony Hawk: RIDE. Oh, and we got to take it for a spin at Tony Hawk’s office. And before we had our chance to play, the most respected skateboarder in the world showed us how he plays his game.

All that excitement aside, Activision and Tony Hawk’s 11th collaboration together, Tony Hawk: RIDE is sure to be a huge hit…and it’s no coincidence that the November release is just in time for holiday gift giving.

Tony Hawk playing Tony Hawk

First, the hands-free, wireless controller is incredible. After years of development, the deck–which is essentially a skateboard without wheels–features full motion sensing technology and allows even a novice gamer to hop right on and play without having to fiddle with any manual controls.

Second, Tony Hawk: RIDE is truly a family game. Even though I had to fight my kids for a turn, once I got on it, the game was FUN. With a variety of trick, vert, and speed challenges that let players compete against friends and family, the game provides an extremely social gaming experience.

Tony Hawk: RIDE – Release date: November 17, 2009
Rating: E 10 +

Retail Price: Several major online retailers are listing the bundle at $119.99, however Activision has yet to confirm a price.
