Will You Buy a 3-D TV?

Panasonic and Samsung will begin rolling out the first 3-D TVs this week — setting off what they hope will be a new era of in-home television viewing. The high-tech televisions come with a high price tag: they start around $3000 for the television, a Blu-Ray DVD player (to watch 3-D enabled movies), and glasses.
So far, there’s limited content to watch in 3-D. The Samsung TVs come with a special copy of “Monsters vs. Aliens” and DreamWorks is planning to release “Shrek” titles in 3-D later this year. ESPN announced a 3-D channel launching in June.
3-D movies in theaters have been hugely successful, so electronics manufacturers are hoping the trend will translate to in-home as well. Will you invest in 3-D television sets? Would they be worth at least $500 more than a regular TV for your family?
