HD side 350 Giveaway: ContourHD Hands Free 1080p Video Camera I have a lot of fun summer travel coming up (and that’s not even counting the amazing last few weeks) and it’s important to me that I capture the memories as fabulously as possible.

This video camera is all that and a bag of chips — it is perfect for mountain biking, snowboarding, kayaking and other outdoor activities – not that I do any of that stuff — you can attach it to your handlebars, helmet, hat and more.But it’s also perfect for non-active activities, so I’m loving it for me as well.

This is a tube-style camcorder designed to be worn as a helmet camera for recording extreme activities. Unlike the competition, which we’ve covered here recently, it doesn’t feature a still photography mode or a viewfinder, optical or digital. But on the other hand, it is it is one of the few helmet cams on the market to record in 1080p high definition — and that’s pretty awesome.

The ContourHD comes with: a MicroSD memory card (2GB — that’s 8 hours of HD content on one card!!!!), a flat surface mount, a goggle mount, a rechargeable battery, a USB cable, and a lens cap. It’s the smallest, and lightest hands-free camera I’ve been sent yet — it weighs only 4.3 ounces and virtually disappears; the low-profile design mated with Contour’s patented TRail™ system makes it easy to mount to virtually anything without getting in the way, and a 135-degree wide-angle rotating lens delivers beautiful 1080p video; shots can be customized with three resolutions, four frame rates and still mode, armored with a water-resistant anodized aluminum body and two lasers for quick alignment, really can help with capturing that perfect shot.

wow that is cool! hmm i found a new fun thing i like to do. gonna take quite a bit of gettin used to, but rock/wall climbing..man that was fun! i could wear this and film the whole darn thing! my sis is really daring in all adventures..im gonna follow her for awhile too! thanx!

It would be nice to use it to document my next trip on an airplane with 2 kids by myself. The last time, I literally had to squish my 3 year old and a new born into the bathroom stall.

I live in beautiful Colorado and could really put great use to this Contour camera. In July, I’m going up to the mountains to Winter Park (which is a snowboard/ski resort) because in the summertime they change up their slopes to fit mountain biking. Their mountain bike park is called Trestle Bike Park if you want to search it. They have crazy jumps and even ramps that curve sideways so if you ride your bike on it, your sides will be complete parallel to the ground!

With this great summer weather, I might even go whitewater rafting again. The first time I went, I just strapped my digital camera to my life vest and took pictures when we were on soft water. But with the Contour camera, I could record me and my raftmates going down the whole river, including during rought waters.

And then this fall/winter, of course everyone in Colorado has to take advantage of the great mountains we have by skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling! I don’t ski but snowboarding and snowmobiling are definitely up my alley this upcoming season

I’m thinkin’ that making a rig to fit this to my shoulder and capturing rides on roller coasters and the like would be awesome.
Heck, I’d even set up a spot on my dash and record all the jerks on the road and compile it for fun. I’d even have a clear recording if one of them happens to ruin my day by crashing into me because they’re texting instead of paying attention. LOL

Hmmmm, not sure that tubing down the river is high excitement, but there are some rapids. Perhaps not so smart if not waterproof. I’ll wear it as we have Plasma Car races down the street.

My son and his mates are always trying new tricks. They want to be the next Crusty Demons. Unfortunately I wont let them use my camera and its not much good with fast paced action anyway. I will use this whenever we go to other countries! My family is fond of documenting almost everything in our family! Our Sony video camera just broke last week. The ribbon for the screen was cut into half so the screen doesn’t display anything anymore. I would be very glad if I can receive this awesome hands free camera! Imagine all the stuff you can do with it because you don’t have to hold it or whatever. I also ice skate, I’ve been skating for 4 years and it would be lovely to film what I’m viewing whenever I skate because I’m not just a normal ice skater. I’m a figure skater and once I start performing, everything blacks out and with this camera, I can video the reactions of the audience! I really want this so badly!
