Need Sleep? Get PowrNaps

powernaps Need Sleep? Get PowrNapsLate night vomiting. Crayon on the walls. Early risers.

These are just a few of the joys that come with parenthood territory that we just have to live with.

So, when PowrNaps told me that they had an effective solution to our #1 problem – sleep deprivation – I was beyond skeptical. Even though I’d found ways to “treat” some of the side-effects of parenthood (Mr. Clean Magic Erasers for the crayon on walls, TV for 5 a.m early risers), there’s just no getting around the lack of sleep and resulting new (or in my case, no-so-new) parent fog that I’d come to accept.

But, desperate and willing to try anything, I gave the NAP26 Sleep System a shot — because of the promise of what equates to three hours of sleep in just 26 minutes.

The little audio device comes pre-programmed with audio waves that mimic normal Delta, Theta, Alpha, Beta, and Gamma sleep waves that guide you through the 26 minute “nap.”  What you hear is similar to soothing rainfall and although I don’t fall asleep everytime I use it, I always wake up refreshed and what honestly feels like I took a peaceful, long nap whether I was sitting in my chair at work or lucky enough to snuggle in my bed.

The company also recommends the system for easing jet lag and offers longer CDs for night-time insomnia.
