Our New Favorite Online Workplace Distraction: “Robot Unicorn Attack”
Posted on June 11, 2010 by Jennifer Latkiewicz
As if you needed another distraction from work, but none are as colorful or delightful as Robot Unicorn Attack, the fantastically addictive online game from AdultSwim.com.
Evoking memories of our childhood Lisa Frank notebooks, Robot Unicorn Attack is a fantasy landscape of rainbows and sparkling dolphins. Set to the pitch-perfect song of “Always” by ‘80s pop band Erasure, you can’t help but grin as your robot unicorn jumps across platforms to collect fairies and smash through stars.
A simple 2 button gameplay (you only use the ‘Z’ and ‘X’ keys) means even the most novice computer “gamer” can score well and enjoy a few minutes of silly Technicolor bliss.
So popular, Robot Unicorn Attack has already been played over 24 million times on AdultSwim.com and has even spawned a bestselling t-shirt. AdultSwim, known for its line-up of absurd cartoon shows aimed at college students and adults, offers a number of other games on its website, including a few with more off-color themes, but Robot Unicorn Attack is ‘SFW’(suitable for work).
Even on the most stressful of workdays, one game of Robot Unicorn Attack is more than enough to raise your spirits — just don’t be surprised if you find yourself humming that Erasure song for the rest of the week.
