Amazon.com is hooking up college students with a free one-year subscription to Amazon Prime, the online retailer’s premium service. If you’re enrolled in at least one college course (US only) and have access to an .edu email address, you’re eligible to sign-up for the new Amazon Students program. Enjoy all the perks of Amazon Prime without the hefty (but worth it) $79 annual fee. These perks include special deals, promos and most notably, Prime’s unlimited free 2-day shipping on any order.
If you’ve never tried it out, non-students can check out a free one-month trial. It may be hard to go back to standard shipping once you’ve gone Prime but at least the $79 annual membership fee includes benefits for up to 4 people. I love Prime! Instead of forcing myself to spend the minimum $25 for Super Saver Shipping or paying the $7 shipping free on a $10 item, Amazon Prime makes ordering pain-free.
Watch out though: With Amazon’s low prices on top of free 2-day shipping with no minimum – it’s ridiculously easy to justify a purchase. It will save you loads on shipping fees but you also might find yourself buying more… I do!
