cinnamonBagBox Gloss Find: Dr. Lucy's CookiesReally, the only thing better than eating something that tastes great is eating something that, nutritionally speaking, is great for you. Dr. Lucy’s gluten-free cookies are made without milk, eggs, peanuts or tree nuts, but you’d never know it. They have a crispier texture than the average store-bought cookie but of the four varieties I’ve tried, each was delicious.

Dr. Lucy’s cookies were developed by Dr. Lucy Gibney, an M.D. and mother of a child with severe food allergies. With clear ingredient and allergen information on the packaging and careful selection of all raw materials, the company employs only the best methods for quality control.

With 0mg cholesterol and 0g trans fat you can feel guilt-free about making them part of your healthy, balanced diet. They come in four flavors:

Chocolate Chip Cookie: I was skeptical that vegan chocolate chips and gluten-free cookies would make for a tasty snack, but color me surprised. They were just as good as any packaged cookie I’ve had and I love that you can feel a little less guilty eating them

Oatmeal Cookie:  Being a soft, chewy cookie fan myself, these oatmeal cookies didn’t exactly remind me of the “real thing.” They had a slightly peanutty taste, which I know I would appreciate if I were allergic with few alternatives. Made with gluten-free oats and a low calorie count, they’d be great with afternoon coffee, tea or milk.

Sugar Cookie:  Unlike typical sugar cookies, these, like all of Dr. Lucy’s cookies, are made without milk, eggs, peanuts or tree nuts…so they’re vegan too. They’re exactly the kind of cookie I’d want to eat with a perfect cup of hot chocolate.

Cinnamon Thin:  Inspired by the classic “Snickerdoodle” cookie, these crispy, crunchy treats are every bit as flavorful as you’d expect. They also taste of real cinnamon – and don’t leave a nasty aftertaste like artificially flavored cookies.

The bottom line? If you have dietary restrictions or food allergies, these cookies are the answer to your prayers. If you don’t…they’re still pretty darn good.
