Zagat announced the results of their annual poll of frequent fliers and Virgin America, JetBlue and Midwest Airlines topped the list of the best domestic carriers to fly. Over 6,000 reviewers rated airlines on comfort, service, and food – and most of the big carriers including American, Delta and United scored poorly overall.
Despite the poor marks for the big guys, the results show a “gradual, mild increase” in satisfaction with U.S. airlines, says Zagat Survey CEO Tim Zagat.
“Consumers feel some marginal improvement in comfort and service,” Zagat says. “The bad news is that the major domestic airlines are becoming more and more like Greyhound buses in the sky.”
