I’ve been doing so much product-driven breast cancer awareness coverage, I didn’t want to miss mentioning an initiative that is really exciting us: Frontier Airlines (www.frontierairlines.com) has been inviting its guests to “think pink” while flying Frontier throughout the month of October.
During this time, Frontier inflight crews will be offering its guests the opportunity to purchase a milk chocolate and strawberry creme Ritter Sport bar for $4, with proceeds going toward the Tissue Bank at the IU Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis, the only tissue bank in the world that collects healthy breast tissue for cancer study and research.
That’s pretty amazing, right? We didn’t know that existed!
The Tissue Bank works to acquire biomolecule and specimens from the entire range of breast development – including puberty through menopause. They then make these specimens or the digital data derived from them accessible to researchers around the globe.
Each sale or donation will help the Tissue Bank fund critical research. Passengers aboard Frontier flights who do not wish to purchase the Ritter Sport bar but would like to still donate, can do so through the inflight Guest Logix system with assistance from a flight attendant.
Do you fly Frontier? Tell us if you contribute!
