American Airlines 300x218 Need A Blanket and Pillow During Your Flight? Bring $8If you’ll need a blanket on your next American Airlines flight, be prepared to fork over $8 for the extra warmth. In addition to fees for luggage and snacks or meals on flights, the carrier is the first to start charging for amenities that were once complimentary.

As of May 1st, passengers on American Airlines flights that are more than two hours long will have to pay the fee for a blanket and inflatable pillow. If your flight is less than two hours? No blankets or pillows for you at all.

Hmm…we wonder if they’ll start cranking the air conditioning on their planes moving forward too…
