aceotel 300x199 Go Visit: The Ace Hotel, Palm Springs, CaliforniaWith an emphasis on local, sustainable design and vintage mid-century style, the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs, California turns a trip to the desert into a relaxed getaway. This 180 room hotel with 2 pools, The King’s Highway restaurant, and a spa with Mongolian yurt treatment rooms, features several camping-themed amenities. From fire pits and bar-b-ques to bicycles and fun vintage vehicles parked around the property, the bohemian vibe makes staying at the Ace fun and memorable.

A family of four can sleep in a King Lounge room, which includes a king bed plus a lounge area that converts into a bedroom with two twin beds. The Ace also offers  standard rooms with two double beds and three different types of suites. For your family pet, the Ace is dog-friendly with a dog park adjacent to the hotel.

Local activities:

- Borrow bikes from the hotel to ride into downtown Palm Springs or around the area

- The Living Desert. A desert zoo with local animals and plants as well as animals from other parts of North America and from Africa.

- The Palm Springs Art Museum. Located in downtown Palm Springs, the museum shows local art and features glass, photography, and sculpture. We have visited several times and are always impressed by the quality of the exhibits.

- The Palm Springs Tram. We took our kids up the tram to play in the snow and have lunch at The Peaks with panoramic views of Palm Springs.
