Last month, a survey found that on average, women spend over $13,000 on makeup in their lifetime. Well, that’s just a drop in the bucket. A new survey finds that we ladies spend $50,000 on our hair over the course of our lives! Who needs college when you have nice hair, right?
Here’s how it breaks down — the average woman spends the following each year:
- $160 on shampoos and conditioners
- $120 on hair styling products
- $520 on haircuts
- $330 on hair coloring
That’s over $1,100 each year — and we consider those figures to be conservative — on our hair. Truthfully, when we see the figures laid out like that–similar to the makeup spending breakdown–some of us have to admit we spend even more…a LOT more…than the findings on hair products.
Oh the shame! Is there a beautiholics anonymous?
P.S. – Here’s another fun fact: according to a survey by Pantene, more than half of us get madder at our hair than we do our significant others! So next time your hubby says you’re being too hard on him, ask him if he wants to trade places with your hair.
