Drew Brees and Son Baylen Captured Hearts at Superbowl

drew brees superbowl Drew Brees and Son Baylen Captured Hearts at SuperbowlDrew Brees and his son Baylen Brees captured the hearts of millions Sunday night after the Superbowl.  The way Drew Brees gazed at his son, with so much love, in the middle of the Superbowl hoopla, was really beautiful.

The New Orleans QB had just won the biggest game of his career, giving the city of New Orleans a much needed boost. People all over were cheering but Drew Brees only had eyes for his baby Baylen. It’s refreshing to see a star athlete who is also a family man and it’s good to know that sometimes the nice guys finish first.

Lisa Belkin of the New York Times summed it up:

With a crowd of more than 70,000 roaring around them, quarterback Drew Brees of the Super Bowl-champion Saints was transfixed by his son, watching his every expression to make sure he wasn’t scared.

It was the headphones, to help muffle the noise on Baylen’s two tiny ears, that captured our hearts. They are what being a parent is about.

Drew Brees may be an awesome QB but I think he’s probably an even better dad. What did you think of Drew and Baylen?

I was very happy that the underdog Saints won the Super Bowl, but my favorite part came after the game, when the cameras Brees holding his son. It was in my opinion, the most heartfelt moment in any super bowl I’ve seen.

I’ve held many titles and I’ve been addressed by many names but the most meaningful thing I’ve ever been called is “Dad”. As the father of two sons, that picture of Drew Brees with his son meant more to me than any game ever played. Brees has my undying gratitude and fathers everywhere have gained an entirely new respect for the guy. God bless him!

Little Baylen, man what a cutey!! Drew holding that little guy might have been the highlight of the game for me. Drew Brees is a lucky man, but I’m sure he knows that.

  4. Savannah says:

I’m very proud to have him on my home team! He is such a great role model! As a football player, as a hard worker, as a dad, and as a person in general. He volunteers his time to rebuild schools and to help children and adults in need. He started his own charity foundation, and he (as you can tell) loves being a dad. He has all the right qualities a man could ever have thhat aren’t focused on looks. He represents New Orleans well. Thank you Drew Brees for all you have done for our city and for the team. You deserve all that you have and so much more. You are surely a saint in New Orleans eyes and you can bet that you are on your way to heaven! God bless you!

    Love Always,

The best part of the Superbowl were those post-game moments where Drew Brees held his son and showed the world what a great father he is.
