Disney’s Baby Einstein is refunding money to parents for their DVDs. If you bought a Baby Einstein DVD hoping your newborn would become a genius you’re entitled to a refund. I just have to ask:
Did YOU really believe that a DVD could make your kid smarter?
To me, thinking DVD products are educational is kind of like saying that Wal-mart is good for small business or today’s fashion models are healthy–it just doesn’t jive. Don’t get me wrong–our family has a DVD of nearly every movie Disney has ever made. But I never banked on the Lion King teaching my kids to read or do math. Lolita Carrico, the founder of GLOSS, loved the Baby Einstein DVDs when her kids were younger. They were entertaining and fun–she didn’t think they’d make her kids geniuses.
In our opinion, people teach. DVDs entertain.
So, talk to the poll—did you think Disney’s Baby Einstein DVDs were educational?
