Drew Brees and his son Baylen Brees captured the hearts of millions Sunday night after the Superbowl. The way Drew Brees gazed at his son, with so much love, in the middle of the Superbowl hoopla, was really beautiful.
The New Orleans QB had just won the biggest game of his career, giving the city of New Orleans a much needed boost. People all over were cheering but Drew Brees only had eyes for his baby Baylen. It’s refreshing to see a star athlete who is also a family man and it’s good to know that sometimes the nice guys finish first.
Lisa Belkin of the New York Times summed it up:
With a crowd of more than 70,000 roaring around them, quarterback Drew Brees of the Super Bowl-champion Saints was transfixed by his son, watching his every expression to make sure he wasn’t scared.
It was the headphones, to help muffle the noise on Baylen’s two tiny ears, that captured our hearts. They are what being a parent is about.
Drew Brees may be an awesome QB but I think he’s probably an even better dad. What did you think of Drew and Baylen?
