When you’re heading out with your baby, it’s good to be prepared. But there’s a fine line between being ready for anything, and taking along everything. Here’s a quick run-down of what you’ll need.
must have:
- Spare diapers are the whole reason for the bag!
- Diaper wipes for quick and easy cleanup.
- Diaper cream to soothe and prevent rashes.
- A changing pad for a nice clean changing surface.
- A change of clothes or spare onesie (just in case).
- Bottle or nursing supplies for on-the-go feeding.
- A burp cloth or spare cloth diaper to protect your clothes.
nice to have:
- Plastic bag to stash dirty diapers.
- A receiving blanket that can fill in where needed.
- Toys or books for an emergency distraction.
- A binky, if you choose.
add after first six months:
- Snacks and a sippy cup or bottle.
- A bib to protect your child’s clothes.
- A blanket for a play mat or any unplanned circumstances.
- A hat for changes in the weather or sun protection.
- Disposable place mats for eating in public.
- Antiseptic wipes and adhesive bandages.
