Duggar Family: Why So Many Duggar Haters?

Where I live there are many large families, some even larger than the Duggars. Large families are more common than poeple realize. I have 8 children and would not change it for the world, even though when I was a teen I said I would not have any.

Dear Duggars from TLC. I am from Canada and respect your family size. I do have one question that bothers me some. I heard that you do not let your childern watch T.V.. Or if you do you really control the amount of T.V. or time that they can watch. My question is how can you control the amount of T.V. or what they watch when your family promotes T.V. and makes extra income from the use of T.V.? So Duggers are you saying or implying that its ok fro the rest of Canada or America and thos other countries to support and watch you on T.V. but not for your own childern? Do you feel that its ok for the rest of us to support you and expect us to watch T.V. and learn about your family yet you dont allow your own family to watch T.V.? This sounds wrong how can you promote T.V. yet also control or not allow programs into your own home. In one corner its ok for any other family to watch you on T.V. as it provides extra income and support but yet you speak out agianst T.V. or the amount of T.V. within your own home. Personally I find this to be a conflict of interest and would like to hear back on your comments about the T.V. vs no T.V. issue. Its not America’s choise or expectation that you had 19 kids and feel as if you need to stand out and gain support from T.V.?

i posted this elsewhere on this site; this is the lone problem i have with the duggar family.

we are able to control our own reproduction and are not limited by our environment as other animals are. this is something that can either be handled with care or abused, and the latter will certainly have dire consequences. a child is a gift; we need to make sure that we have enough time to understand each of our children personally and fully.

Yes…PETA is stupid! The Duggars are great and more power to them with their beautiful family! I love their show and I think their family is awesome! What a blessing they all are to watch on Tuesday nights!

Do you hear the Duggars complain about anyone choosing to have only one or two kids? Do they tell people to stop their barnyard approach to the blessing of children and stop getting themselves fixed like a common animal? Shove that, PETA!!
I think people have problems with the Duggars because it makes them uncomfortable and maybe make them question some of the choices they themselves have made.
Leave the Duggars alone to live their lives as they see fit. They aren’t a drain to your tax dollars or the environment or anything else. Maybe they shelter their kids to keep them away from haters like you!!!

I read an article talking about the quiverful movement. And that most of the families with x amount of kids receive county or local gov assistance!The article went on to say that the quiverful movement, was a financial drain to the social services in that area! The article was written by a social service employee from Arkansas! Must not be a very affordable lifesyle after all!

Of course they make a lot of $$$ off the show. Do you think they are stupid? No. They know how to use the system. They even claim their home as a church and don’t pay any taxes. That’s why they are supposedly debt free. Who cares? I’d rather have a little debt and let my kids wear nice clothes and shoes, and enjoy life. But, what’s up with not allowing their kids to have choices, like education, friends, jobs, outside interests and activities? Michelle is a baby making machine for Jim Bozo. She only interacts with the youngest baby not the other kids. The older girls raise them. That is the way it works. This is selfish parenting. Who in their right mind would have 2 kids within a year at the age of 43? That’s crazy.

Wow…maybe I didn’t read far enough back but I’m amazed that no one has mentioned the environmental impact of having 19 children. If we all had 19 children soon America would be the next China with overpopulation. And what sort of a world would that be creating for your children, grandchildren, etc? And while we are all individuals and what is right for one is not right for another, I still find it hard to understand how it is good parenting when you need to sign a “sign up” sheet to get time with a parent. No animosity towards the Duggars I just think they are doing the wrong thing here. Seriously…they could have adopted 19 kids…that would have been more honorable.

I love watching the show. The children are well behaved, would like the rest of the world to take note. They save money by home schooling, making there own soap, own 20 acres, house paid for. Rent out buildings for commercial use for income besides the show as income. Every body whines about all the children they have, no one is paying for it with there taxes, because there not on welfare. I do admit they have enough children, but that is there business. I also think this last child is a way of God saying you have enough children. My God, the mother and child could of lost there lives, the baby is still having medical problems that ought to wake them up and say we have enough children.What I’m plabergasted at,the dad said they don’t know how to grow anything!Such a large family and all those acres and NO GARDEN. Thats amazing! They could save even more growing there own vegetables.

The Duggars are rediculous! 19 kids?! i think they’re just in it for the money. WTF. She needs to put a cap in it. I’m sure in reality they wouldnt have that much kids if they didnt have that much money and the only reason they have so much money is because of TLC. I think they’re trying to build some kind of child labor system thats why they want more kids. STOP IT! look at ur last baby.. she’s premature. QUIT it! It’s pretty nasty! Its not like
Kate plus 8. She had multiples and she couldnt keep that from happening, but Michelle and her husband just needs to stop. Okay, we get it, u have 19 childern. good for you, but im sure theres other people out there that have the same story as they do, but is not getting filmed and have that much money. Wayy too many kids. They’re lucky they can support and discipline all of them, but not for long. When they all grown up.. its gonna slowly go downhill.

Another example of religion gone too far, people like them creep me out!

I am a strong beleiver in “to each their own” (within reason of course) but I also do not think that it is fair to the children or the taxpayers that they have so many kids.I understand that children need independance but they also need to be able to be children and the older kids are not getting to live their lives because they have to look after the youngert kids.I think that they may be continuing to have children so they can have more publicity and make more money. which is really sad.

I believe that the Duggar’s have strong belief’s about their religion, I have met a lot of people that believe the same way they do. I think that it is fine for them to behave the way they do, so what if they don’t watch that much t.v. did it affect anybody back when there was no t.v.? They don’t allow their kids to dance probably because now a days everybody wants to make it a sexual matter. I think that all of their kids are extremely well behaved and well mannered. They have learned this from their parents. People need to quit saying they believe in God but they don’t agree with the way these people live their lives and then say mean and hateful things about them. If they believed in God then they wouldn’t be talking about them anyway. That’s a shame. Everyone makes mistakes, that doesn’t mean that if they have, as we all have, that it’s going to ruin the kids lives. Grow up people!!
