Funny couple Amy Poehler and Will Arnett are expecting their second child!

A rep for the38-year old Parks & Recreation star confirmed to US Magazine that Amy is pregnant. The couple, who have been married since 2003 and have a 16-month of son, Archie.

The former Saturday Night Live alum loved being pregnant the last time around, telling Elle:

“It’s really nice. You make people happy. There’s a reason why and Buddha both have big bellies.”

Congrats to the couple on their growing brood!

Kevin Costner and his wife, Christine Baumgartner Costner, are expecting! The 55-year old actor and Christine will welcome the couple’s third child in June — they have two young sons together and Costner also has four adult children from his previous relationships. So, this will be baby number seven for the Oscar winner.

Kevin and Christine have been married since 2004. The actor is staring in the upcoming “The Company Men” with Ben Affleck and Tommy Lee Jones this summer.

Easy ways to make your nursery good for your baby and good for the world.

Single-handedly saving the planet is a tall order for any busy mom. But luckily what’s good for the earth is good for your baby, too—whether it’s protecting their future or making sure their home environment is pure and healthy. Here are some easy ways to go green without going overboard.

The Diaper Dilemma. Whether to use cloth diapers or disposable is a hotly debated topic: Disposable diapers pollute, while cloth diapers use a lot of water resources. But now there’s a compromise:  cloth diaper covers with disposable inserts that work like a sanitary napkin, minimizing what gets thrown away every day. The most responsible versions even make biodegradable inserts. Look for brands like Tushies™, Bambino Mio™ and GDiapers™.

Buy Domestic. With fuel prices dramatically on the rise, more and more consumers are buying local in reaction to the increased cost of importing. Economics and politics aside, buying a crib that doesn’t have to be shipped around the globe helps preserve energy and is a great way to go green.

Recycling. Hand-me-downs are back! Join the new wave of eco-minded moms who realize that clothes that are outgrown in less than three months can be shared and shared again. But there are still plenty of other ways to cut down on the amount of “stuff” going into the landfills. Toys, books, and “gear” items are great places to conserve. Borrow, reuse, and pass them on when you’re done!

Safer Paints. Look for paints that have low or no VOCs (volatile organic compounds). This type of paint minimizes emissions, which not only ensures better breathing for your baby but also is more gentle to our ozone. Great news: Most major paint lines today offer a wide color palette in no- and low-VOC paints.

Glass Baby Bottles. Not sure about BPA issues? Confused by all the conversations about plastics? Opt out of the debate (and meanwhile lessen the demand for plastics) by going with glass bottles for milk and formula.

A Camel cigarettes ad campaign from 2007 is coming under fire — and rightfully so — for targeting teen girls. The pink Camel No. 9 ads ran in magazines like Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Glamour, but were most popular with girls in the 12 to 16 year old range, according to a report by USA Today.

Though Camel says that they didn’t target teens, citing 85% of the readers of such magazines are over 18 years old, other promotional giveaways that went with the campaign — including flavored lip balm, cell phone jewelry, and pink purses — seem targeted to young girls.

In the study published today, 22% of teen girls surveyed said the Camel ads were their favorite. And, the study also found that teenagers who could name a favorite cigarette ad were 50% more likely to smoke.

Camel pulled the ads a year later, but lead researcher John Pierce finds the actions deliberate. “These are the same people that brought us Joe Camel, a very big campaign with multiple different components,” he said. “Now it seems like what they’re doing is trying a campaign, and then when people complain, they change and do something else.”

Super mama alert! Top Chef host, model and new mom Padma Lakshmi stepped out in New York with 3-week old Krishna Thea today. Mom and baby both looked amazing and so cute and cozy together! And yes, Padma looks incredible and seems to have already lost most of her baby weight…she’s a model, we forgive her.

Extra host Mario Lopez — who was named People’s ‘Bachelor of the Year” two years ago — is getting ready to start a family! Mario announced today that he and girlfriend Courtney Mazza are expecting a baby in the fall!

The dad-to-be is thrilled and isn’t planning to find out the sex of the baby: “I grew up in a large family. I’m fired up! I don’t know what we’re having. I’m going to wait to see [the baby's gender] so it will be a surprise,” he told PEOPLE magazine.

The couple met in New York in 2008 — the same year Lopez was “Bachelor of the Year” — while performing in A Chorus Line.

Cesarean sections are the #1 most performed surgeries in the United States, with 1 in 3 pregnant women giving birth via c-section. That figure is up significantly since 1996, when the rate was 1 in 5.

So why are c-sections on the rise? The American College of Obstetrics & Gynecologists says that c-sections are overused in the United States, but some doctors cite obesity, maternal age and an increase in multiple births for the rise. Others point to the level of intervention today — induced labor and pain medications during labor — for the rise. Still others claim economic incentives and the fear of malpractice lawsuits — especially in the case of VBACs (vaginal births after c-section) — are a cause.  Currently, VBAC’s are prohibited at many hospitals across the country because of the perceived increased risks.

The debate rages on, but a new report being released today by the NIH (National Institute of Health), has determined that VBAC’s are just as safe as normal births. The findings could lead to a decline in c-sections.

“Right now, as a doctor and physician, I’m not allowed to do my job offering women VBAC’s. I’m at one of the thousands of hospitals in the U.S. that forbids the practice. We now have confirmed evidence that VBAC’s are just as safe as having a normal birth. So, I’m being forced to have women undergo another cesarean, a potential harmful procedure, they don’t have to have. It’s unethical to me. We take an oath as physicians to do no harm and clearly we’re causing harm to women by subjecting women to harmful procedure because we have no choice. This report may help give us and women that option again,” says Dr. Tami Michele, an obstetrician and board member for the Coalition for Improving Maternity Services.

The head of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSA) said at a meeting of children’s product manufacturers today that they plan to issue a general warning about baby slings.  The warning, which will likely be announced this week, comes after suffocation deaths.

“We know of too many deaths in these slings and we now know the hazard scenarios for very small babies,” Inez Tenenbaum said. “So, the time has come to alert parents and caregivers.”

The warning will be for baby slings in general — not specific models or brands. There have been about a dozen recalls of slings over the years based on straps or fasteners that could pose the risk of babies falling out of the carriers, but there haven’t been any recalls due to strangulation or deaths.

Layla Grace, the beautiful 2-year old who captured the attention of the social media-sphere, lost her battle with a rare form of cancer today. Mom bloggers and celebrities rallied to raise support and awareness for the little girl and her family.

Chronicling the young girl’s battle with stage-four neuroblastoma — a cancer that occurs predominantly in children under the age of two, Layla Grace’s parents posted photos and updates on Twitter and Facebook to bring awareness to the disease and support. And, support they did receive — to the tune of over 23,000 followers on Twitter including celebrities like Ryan Seacrest and Guiliana Rancic who sent wishes to the family. News of Layla Grace’s passing came via Twitter this AM:

Forget about non-smoking areas, a restaurant in Berlin is now offering a no-kids area for customers. The Café Niesen, located in one of the German capital’s most family-friendly neighborhoods, opened the area restricted to “Adults without Children” after regulars were complaining about the pint-sized customers.

“My regulars were not finding it peaceful,” owner Christine Wick said.

Even though few have complained about the child-free zone, in general, the concept is being frowned upon by the government, who deem the policy concerning and “not acceptable.” With a low birth rate, the government in Berlin has been doing its best to encourage its citizens to have more babies.

“We are a society that is having fewer children,” said Stefanie Winde of the Berlin state parliament. “We need to be more tolerant.”
