Do you love a good New Year’s Eve party? Some of the best New Year’s Eve parties I’ve ever had have been at home with my kids!
My husband and I have always made New Year’s Eve a festive, fun night for our girls—-and as they get older, our girls plus their friends. Here are a few ideas that make New Year’s Eve at home a ton of fun.
1. Break the Rules on New Year’s Eve
Let the kids eat pizza on the good china and drink juice out of champagne glasses. Or have chocolate chip pancakes for New Year’s Eve Dinner. Something you usually don’t let the kids do.
2. Be Silly.
Get the party hats, and party poppers! Even if the kids don’t make it until midnight, party like it’s 1999. Be silly. Your kids might cringe but they’ll like it.
3. Start a Tradition.
We always played poker in my family and my kids learned how to play poker early! If poker isn’t your family game, how about Monopoly? Or build a fort and watch all the Star Wars movies as a family.
