Anyone who loves to cook but despises the lingering odors of garlic or seafood that tend to remain in the air long after a meal is over knows that it takes more than one spritz of air freshener to make a kitchen smell like new again.
Where sprays and perfumes mask odors, Fresh Wave has a line of soy candles that are great for room deodorizing or for reducing odor in small kitchen spaces.
Soy candle are known to be greener and cleaner than traditional paraffin candles but they may not be better for your health.
Leonard Bielory, M.D., professor at UMDNK – New Jersey Medical School in Newark, N.J. told Natural Health Magazine that though soy candles are not proven to be better for you health than paraffin wax, they have significant benefits.
Why choose soy candles?
Soy candles burn cleaner: made from soybean oil and beeswax, they produce less soot (although neither have been a proven risk to asthma or allergies unless you stand directly over the flame).
Soy candles last longer: soy wax burns at a cooler temperature, which means soy wax candle can be enjoyed for up to 30-50% longer than a paraffin candle.
Soy candles are biodegradable and water soluble: since candles are made from soybeans they are naturally biodegradable. Bonus? accidental spills will be way easier to clean.
