Obviously, Aly Approves: Starbucks Launches Blonde Roast Coffee

Blondes are about to have a bit more fun, indeed: Starbucks has launched its Blonde Roast coffee!

Personally, I am bummed because I was invited to a BLONDE event celebrating this and had to say no due to current home imprisonment, but am still excited to give it a taste. Starbucks says its lighter roast is targeted at customers who find Starbucks signature roast to be “too intense.”

Question: While I get that the assumption is that “dark” is intense and blonde is … not – have you met many blondes? i.e. ME? ARE WE NOT INTENSE?

Exactly.

Brad Anderson, master roaster for Starbucks, says, “It took eight months and more than 80 different recipe and roast iterations before we landed on the exact flavor profile our customers told us they were looking for. They told us they wanted a flavorful, lighter-bodied coffee that offers a milder taste and a gentle finish. Starbucks Blonde Roast delivers.”
