vdaydinner 300x199 Romantic Valentines Day Recipes: Classic and Modern Menu IdeasWant to impress your chosen one with an amazing meal this Valentine’s Day? Forget the restaurant reservations — there’s no better way (ok, maybe there are a couple that’re better…) to show someone you love them than to make a fantastic meal for them.  We’ve got fool-proof but incredible menu ideas you can create in no time…so you’ll have plenty of time to get foxy for your romantic evening.

Whether you’re a classic romance fan or prefer more of a modern spin, check out our recommendations to celebrate in style and make a delicious dinner.

The Starters

Classic: Prosciutto wrapped Asparagus

Modern: Jamie Oliver’s Crostini with Prosciutto, Figs, and Mint

The Meal

Classic: Perfect Char-Grilled Filet Mignon

Modern: Cider-Glazed Lamb Chops

The Dessert

Classic: Sliced Strawberries with Grand Marnier Zabaglione or Cream Puffs with Vanilla Ice Cream and Chocolate Sauce

Modern: Chocolate Eclair Hearts

The Cocktails

Classic: Sparkling white wine or champagne with strawberries. Drop 1/2 of a strawberry into a tall champagne flute and fill — slowly! — with your favorite champagne. Prefer a non-alcoholic version? Fill with sparkling white grape juice for the same great flavor and elegance.

Modern: Champagne with a hint of Chambord liqueur! Fill a tall flute glass with champagne and add a splash of the raspberry treat for a hint of color and sweetness.

The Decor
Creating a romantic table is easy! Don’t go overboard — just put some lovely flowers like tulips or lilies…or my favorite — orchids…in a simple vase.

Add some simple candles and you’re good to go!
