Here’s a list of some tasty and quick, essential Thanksgiving recipes including Candied Yams, Mashed Potatoes, Green Bean Casserole and Gravy that you can get on the Thanksgiving table in no time.

Now all you need to take care of is the turkey!

Quick Candied Yams Recipe

Get:

2 (16 oz.) cans or 1 (29 oz.) can cut yams or sweet potatoes
5 tbsp. butter
1/3 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/3 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1 c. miniature marshmallows (optional)

Prepare:

Stove top directions. Pour sweet potatoes and liquid into 2 quart sauce pan. Cook until are heated through. Drain liquid and set aside. While sweet potatoes are heating combine butter and brown sugar in 1 quart sauce pan and cook until hot, but not boiling. Add nuts to sauce if desired and pour over hot sweet potatoes. Stir just to coat.

Perfect, Quick Mashed Potatoes Recipe

Get:

1 1/2 lbs yukon gold potatoes, peeled and quartered length-wise
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 Tbsp heavy cream
2 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp milk
Salt and Pepper

Prepare:

Put potatoes into a saucepan. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt. Add water until potatoes are covered. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer, covered, 15-20 minutes, or until done – a fork can easily be poked through them.

Warm cream and melt butter, together, either in microwave or in a pan on the stove. Drain water from potatoes. Put hot potatoes into a bowl. Add cream and melted butter. Use potato masher to mash potatoes until well mashed. Use a strong spoon to beat further, adding milk to achieve the consistency you desire. (Do not over-beat or your potatoes will get gluey.) Salt and pepper to taste.

Quick & Easy Green Bean Casserole Recipe

Get:

1/3 stick butter (optional low fat butter/margarine)
1 can cream of mushroom soup
2 cups sliced green beans
1/2 cup diced onions
2 cups sliced mushrooms (optional)
3 cups chicken broth
1 can French-fried onion rings
Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Prepare:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  Melt the butter in a large skillet, then add onions (and mushrooms). Saute.  Boil green beans in chicken broth for about 10 minutes. Drain.

Add cooked green beans, mushroom soup, onion rings, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to the onions. Stir well. Pour into a greased baking dish. Bake for about 20 minutes.  Top your casserole with your choice of shredded cheddar or parmesan.  Bake until the casserole the cheese is melted (about 10 minutes)

Quick Gravy Recipe

Get:

1  tablespoon  butter
2  tablespoons  all-purpose flour
1/4  teaspoon  poultry seasoning
1/8  teaspoon  salt
1/8  teaspoon  black pepper
1  cup  fat-free, less-sodium chicken broth

Prepare:

Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat; add flour, poultry seasoning, salt, and black pepper, stirring with a whisk. Gradually add broth, stirring until blended. Cook 2 minutes or until thick, stirring constantly.
